Gaza Doesn't Have $500 Billion In Gas That Israel Is Stealing

Now, there is some gas off Gaza.

Gaza Marine is a natural gas field off the coast of the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Marine natural gas field is located in water about 36 kilometres (22 mi) offshore at a depth of 2,000 feet (610 m).[1] The field was discovered in 2000 by BG Group and it is estimated to contain more than 1 trillion cubic feet (28.32 km3) of natural gas.

The way these things work that belongs to the Palestinian Authority. Nope, not the government of Gaza nor Hamas, to the folks who run the West Bank.

But rather more importantly, it ain’t worth $500 billion. Assume - we shouldn’t do this but we can if we wish - that the trillion cubic feet is entirely recoverable. That that’s the amount that can be sucked out. OK. Natural gas is priced per thousand cubic feet. The US price is currently $3.70 cents per thousand cubic feet. That’s easy enough, a trillion divided by a thousand is one billion, times $3.70 is $3.7 billion dollars.

Which is real money, sure it is. It’s also not enough to go to war over. Anyone think that Israel (or the US, the Illuminati or the Rosicrucians) is spending less than $3.7 billion on this assault upon Gaza? Quite, that’s not going to make a profit, is it?

So the entire idea that this is about stealing the gas is for the loons.

This video is even more stupid. That it’s being retweeted by Frances Coppola should concern those close to her. For it’s insane.

The claim is that there’s a ship out there - a US one, obviously - sucking up that gas from that Gaza gas field. And this is the reason it’s all happening.

Sigh.

On 18 June 2023, the Israeli government gave preliminary approval for its development, while requiring security coordination with the Palestinian Authority and Egypt.

A year after preliminary approval? They’ve not even started drilling yet. And if there are no holes drilled then you’re not going to be able to collect gas. Oh, also, you don’t collect gas into a ship at sea. You bring it ashore, compress it, then put it in a ship. A ship off the coast simply is not collecting gas.

The entire idea is conspirazoid moronity.

Yes, yes, think anything you like about Israel, Gaza, the perfidy of whoever and all that. There isn’t $500 billion in gas off Gaza, it doesn’t belong to Gaza and absolutely no one is sitting in a ship offshore pumping it up. Get a grip people.
